A JOYFUL CELEBRATION NOT A PRESSURE-FILLED PERFORMANCE

Our End of Year Concert is a joyful celebration of everything our students have learnt and achieved throughout the year.

It’s an empowering opportunity for our students to step onto the stage, shine in front of their family and friends and create magical memories that stay with them forever.

If you’ve heard stories about demanding dance concerts, we want to reassure you that’s not us. At The Dance Centre, there is no pressure for perfection, there is no pressure to even participate.

Our concert is about fun, confidence, connection and celebrating the journey. It’s about bringing together a whole term/year of weekly classes, hard work, new skills, friendships and everything our students have achieved along the way.

It’s their opportunity to showcase what they’ve been learning with their teachers, celebrate their progress and experience the incredible feeling of performing on a real professional stage.

It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our teachers to get creative and bring their choreography to life while giving our students the chance to experience what it’s like to perform in a professional theatre, complete with professional lighting, technicians and all the excitement of a real performance.

This is so much more than a ‘dance concert’. Students are developing confidence, teamwork, performance skills and the courage to step outside their comfort zone, all while having an absolute ball with their friends.

Years from now, we don’t want them to remember whether every step or routine was perfect. We want them to remember how it felt. We want them to remember the excitement of getting into costume, laughing with their friends, hearing the music start, seeing the lights come up and stepping onto that stage feeling proud.

Most importantly, we want them to leave concert day thinking: That was SO much fun!

THIS YEAR IS EXTRA SPECIAL…

We’re celebrating 15 incredible years of The Dance Centre! Our 2026 End of Year Concert will be more than just a celebration of our students and everything they have achieved. It’s a celebration of 15 years of dance, friendship, community and memories and we cannot wait to make this milestone year one to remember.

FIRST CONCERT? PLEASE DON’T WORRY!

If this is your child’s first concert, please be reassured that our goal is to make the experience simple, enjoyable and exciting for the whole family.

Concert routines are taught during regular class time, with each class learning 1 routine.

For example:

A student enrolled in Jazz will perform 1 Jazz routine.

A student enrolled in Jazz and Ballet will perform 2 routines.

The more classes they take, the more opportunities they have to shine on stage!

Each week, students refine their routines while developing performance skills, teamwork and confidence along the way.

Regular attendance helps students feel prepared and confident. If your child misses a class, don’t worry, routines will also be uploaded to the Studio Band App so they can catch up and practise before returning the following week.

THE FUN DOESN’T STOP WHEN THEY LEAVE THE STAGE!

Fun is at the heart of everything we do, so the celebrations continue long after their concert performance.

After dancing on stage, students head into the convention centre room where we have a disco style After Party complete with games, arts and crafts, music and a live stream of the concert performances for everyone to enjoy together.

It’s one of our favourite parts of concert day, a chance for students to celebrate, cheer on their friends and simply have fun together.

THERE IS NEVER ANY PRESSURE TO PERFORM

If your child is unable to perform at the concert, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust the dance routine.

If your child chooses not to participate, they are still warmly welcomed in class right up until concert day.
